Andy Murray retains Amelie Mauresmo in shuffled coaching team

Andy Murray retains Amelie Maureso as his coach for next season, but drops Dani Valverdu and fitness coach Jez Green from his team following five years of service.

Andy Murray will continue his working relationship with Amelie Mauresmo next season, but has dropped Dani Valverdu and Jez Green from his coaching team.

Valverdu, who assisted Mauresmo, and fitness coach Green have been with Murray for over five years, but the British number one feels that a change is needed.

Murray said in a statement: "We sat down at the end of the season and decided that a change would be best for all of us.

"My off season training and Australian Open preparations have already begun and I am very excited for the New Year.

"I thank Jez and Dani for all their hard work over the years and wish them the best for the future."

Mauresmo was initially appointed as coach to the two-time Grand Slam champion on a trial basis last summer, and remained with him for the remainder of a campaign which was plagued by his back surgery.

The Frenchwoman won the Australian Open and Wimbledon titles during her 16-year professional career.
