Sabine Lisicki starts season with straight-sets win

Wimbledon finalist Sabine Lisicki gets her season off to a winning start as she beats Magdalena Rybarikova 6-3 6-4 to reach round two of the Brisbane International.

Wimbledon finalist Sabine Lisicki got her season off to a winning start on Sunday as she cruised through to the second round of the Brisbane International.

The seventh seed was on court at the Pat Rafter Arena for just 80 minutes as she beat Slovakia's Magdalena Rybarikova 6-3 6-4.

Lisicki won all of her service games, hitting seven aces and saving three break points in the process.

She will face Switzerland's Stefanie Voegele in round two.
