Novak Djokovic has secured a place in the third round of the Shanghai Masters with a 6-2 6-0 victory over Marcel Granollers.
The former world number one, who relinquished his top spot to Rafael Nadal last weekend, started strongly in the opening set by nabbing an early break of serve.
The Serbian's powerful forehands and trademark athleticism prevented Granollers from causing him much trouble on the court, resulting in just two games on the board for the Spaniard.
Djokovic maintained his dominance in the second set by breaking Granollers at the first time of asking, leaving his opponent with a mountain to climb.
Despite Granoller's attempts to get back into the game, Djokovic's form never wavered and he was able to wrap up the clash in just over an hour.
