World number one Novak Djokovic has progressed through to the Rogers Cup quarter-finals with a 7-5 6-3 victory over Croatian Marin Cilic.
The Serb broke at 6-5 in the first set before gaining the advantage over the world number 29.
Djokovic broke at 2-1 in the second but couldn't captialise on two match points at 5-2, but a Cilic double fault sealed the victory.
The 24-year-old will face either Viktor Troicki or Gael Monfils in the semi-final.
