Nick Kyrgios close to ban after $1,500 fine

Nick Kyrgios goes a step closer to triggering a 28-day suspended ban after being fined $1,500 at the Shanghai Masters.

Nick Kyrgios has been fined for an outburst at the Shanghai Masters.

The Australian was reportedly heard calling the tournament a "circus" and complaining about the ball boys.

After a series of controversies, Kyrgios is now on the verge of being banned for 28 days.

The 20-year-old was given a suspended ban in August for comments made about Stanislas Wawrinka's girlfriend. He was fined $1,500 and the ban will be triggered if he incurs $5,000 before February.

Kyrgios plays Japan's Kei Nishikori in the second round on Wednesday.
