Serena Williams: 'Winning US Open will not make or break me'

World number one Serena Williams suggests that she is not feeling any extra pressure to win the US Open at Flushing Meadows in New York.

World number one Serena Williams has suggested that winning the current US Open will not make or break her career.

Williams is one of the major favourites to take the crown at Flushing Meadows, but the 33-year-old has insisted that she is not feeling any pressure as she looks to make it into the final of the American showpiece.

"I haven't really felt a lot of pressure," said Serena, according to tennisworldusa.org.

"Only in that second round I had it, for whatever reason I did get tight. The whole tournament I have been really kind of rather relaxed.

"I don't really feel like if I win this tournament it's going to make or break my career. So, you know, I look at it that way."

Serena will be going up against her sister Venus Williams in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
