Philipp Kohlschreiber has clinched his place in the third round of the US Open courtesy of a straight-sets win over Lukas Rosol.
The duo battled out a tight first set as both players managed to break serve, but neither could capitalise to win the set, forcing a tie-breaker. The German upped the level of his play to win the tie-breaker 7-4 to take the lead in the match.
Kohlschreiber dominated the second set as he attacked Rosol's serve while being dominant on his own. The 31-year-old broke Rosol twice to ease to a 6-2 victory.
The number 29 seed continued his imperious form in the third as he broke the serve of the Czech to secure his place on the last 32 courtesy of a 6-2 win.
Kohlschreiber will play Roger Federer in the third round.
