David Ferrer has progressed into the third round at Wimbledon by securing a 7-6[1] 6-2 6-4 victory over Kenny De Schepper.
The Spaniard found a tough opponent in Schepper in the early stages of the contest with both able to hold their serve in the first set, which forced through a tie-break to decide the lead.
It was Ferrer who was successful in the tie-break and managed to continue his dominance in the second set and cruise through a 6-2 advantage to take a two-set lead.
Schepper failed to force through a comeback, while Ferrer went from strength to strength and clinched a spot in the third round of the tournament.
