Serena Williams comes from behind to overcome Christina McHale in second round

World number one Serena Williams comes back from one set down to overcome fellow American Christina McHale in her second round clash at Wimbledon.

Serena Williams has come back from one set down to overcome Christina McHale in her second-round clash at Wimbledon.

The world number one was taken to a tie-break and hit the ball into the net as her compatriot won 9-7 to take the first set.

A shaken Williams soon bounced back, however, and made light work of McHale to take the latter two sets 6-2 and 6-4 on the way to victory at SW19.

The American veteran has lost her last two Grand Slam finals and will aim to rectify that by winning her seventh Wimbledon Championship this summer.
