Gus Bradley: 'Toby Gerhart can be every-down back'

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley believes that running back Toby Gerhart could be an every-down player for his side.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley has admitted that running back Toby Gerhart has the ability to play on all three downs for his side.

Gerhart signed for the Jaguars during free agency following four years at the Minnesota Vikings, where he saw his opportunities limited behind All-Pro back Adrian Peterson.

Bradley told reporters: "He has the ability to play all three downs. How many carries he gets — we would like to run the ball over 40 percent of the time. There might be 28-30 carries in a game and there aren't more running backs that carry more than 20 times a game.

"If he's a guy that is carrying it 15-16 times and with third-down reps, 18 times. That's feasible. A strong possibility."

The 26-year-old had 32 carries for 283 yards and two touchdowns in the 2013 season.
