Good evening and welcome to Sports Mole's live coverage of day 12 of the Olympic diving.
London's stunning Aquatics Centre plays host to the preliminary stage of the women's 10m platform this evening, where 26 divers will compete for a spot in the semi-final.
Team GB's Stacie Powell and Monique Gladding are both hoping to clinch a top-18 spot tonight, but as always, the competition is intense.
China's Chen Ruolin and Hu Yadan go into the event as favourites, but as we saw in the men's 3m springboard final, shock results are always possible.
9.26pmThat's all from me here tonight. Join us from 9.30am tomorrow for all the action from the semi-final.
9.23pmSo at the end of the preliminaries Ruolin Chen of China finishes top with a score of 392.35. Pandelela Rinong Pamg of Malaysia comes in second on 349.00, and Christin Steuer of Germany is third on 341.75. Gladding only just misses out in 19th place, and Powell is just behind her in 20th.
9.22pmSo there will be no home interest in the semi-final unfortunately.
9.20pmAnd there goes Gladding. Mai Nakagawa of Japan sends her crashing out with a 70.40 for her back 2 1/2 somersault 1 1/2 twist!
9.19pmKoltunova knocks out Powell, securing progression with a 64.00 on her final dive.
9.18pmPowell is now in 18th, the final qualification spot.
9.18pmBell of the US steals a top ten spot with her final effort, knock our girls down another peg.
9.17pmIt's a big ask now. They are in 15th and 16th with several who could knock them down still to perform their final dives.
9.14pmPamg books her place in the semi, pushing the Brits down to 14th and 15th. There's still seven yet to dive.
9.14pmPamg books her place in the semi, pushing the Brits down to 14th and 15th. There's still seven yet to dive.
9.12pmThey're down to 13th and 14th now.
9.10pmGladding and Powell are in 11th and 12th respectively. Both can still progress if other falter on their final dive!
9.10pmChristin Steuer of Germany has been one of the few consistent divers tonight. She has qualified with a score of 341.75 and currently lies in second.
9.07pmBroben ends on a back 2 1/2 somersault 1 1/2 twist. She's been consistent this evening, but that wasn't her best dive. 57.60 is still enough to take her through to the semi, though.
9.06pmHu has been off her game today. Her back 2 1/2 somersault 1 1/2 twist is only worth a 67.20. She moves into third and will qualify, but not in the emphatic fashion we've come to expect from the Chinese.
9.02pmGladding also needed a big finish on her forward 3 1/2 somersault, and she managed to raise her game too. Good execution and a clean entry into the water. The judges rate it at 67.50, and could edge through on that. It will be an agonising wait for her now.
8.59pmPowell needed to dig deep with her back 2 1/2 somersault 1 1/2 twist in order to stay in the contest, and she does! It was her best of the evening, but will the 70.40 it scored be enough to progress? Probably not, but at the rate the divers have been faltering tonight anything could happen!
8.57pmChen's final dive was a back 2 1/2 somersault 1 1/2 twist, and it keeps her miles ahead of the rest. The judges award her with a 81.60. She is 67 points ahead of Benfeito in second.
8.54pmAt the end of round four, Chen looks comfortable at the top, followed by Australia's Broben in second, and Pamg of Malaysia in third. The Britons are outside of the qualification spots. Gladding is in 20th and Powell in 22nd, but both can make the top 18 with big finishes!
8.49pmBell looks like she's steadied the ship now. She earns 79.20 for her back 3 1/2 somersault and is likely to qualify.
8.44pmA wonderful inward 3 1/2 somersault from Pamg. She earns 81.60, and many of her competitors will do well to take a page from her book!
8.43pmWu's takeoff and aerial work are good, but her finish was mistimed. The judges score her down with a 54.40. We've seen some blatant errors from many of the divers here tonight.
8.42pmFilion of Canada needed to nail her armstand, and she does just that. The judges score it has 75.90, and that will do wonders for her qualification aspirations.
8.39pmBroben ups the pressure on the chasing pack, moving into second after a forth dive rated at 70.95.
8.38pmUn Hyang Kim of Korea pulls of one of the dives of the evening, a back 3 1/2 somersault worth 79.20. She moves into ninth and should make the semi.
8.36pmHu also falters on her fourth dive, earning just 51.15 for her back 3 1/2 somersault. There are a lot of divers having an off night here.
8.34pmGladding with a back 2 1/2 somersault. Her takeoff was good, but she came out of her shape too early. A harsh 39.15 for her there. That's a setback with just one round to go!
8.34pmNoemi Batki of Italy has been another consistent performer this evening, and she's up to up to second after a nice inward 3 1/2 somersault.
8.31pmPowell, looking to get into the qualification spots, needed to do better than 48.00 on her inward 2 1/2 somersault. Far too much splash there. That could mean curtains for her!
8.31pmProkopchuk loses balance on her handstand and a technical restart was required. That cost her and results in a o points from each judges 52.80. That would have been a cracker if not for the penalty!
8.29pmChen with a back 2 1.2 somersault to earn 74.25. Not her best dive of the evening, but that will keep her at the top.
8.28pmBenfeito was looking to get back into it with her armstand back triple somersault. It's a mixed bag, earning her 54.45. It may be over for her.
8.28pmBenfeito was looking to get back into it with her armstand back triple somersault. It's a mixed bag, earning her 54.45. It may be over for her.
8.24pmAt the end of round three, China's Chen and Hu are in first and second, and Australia's Wu is in third. Gladding lies in 14th and Powell in 21st.
8.24pmThere have been a few howlers tonight, and Suji Kim's back 3 1/2 somersault is one of them. She's lucky she didn't do herself a serious injury there! 24.75 from the judges and she looks down and out.
8.20pmKoltunova had ground to make up, and her forward 3 1/2 does just that for her, with a 73.50 from the judges.
8.19pmBell of the United States has just showed us how the inward 3 1/2 somersault should be performed. That will move her back into contention with a 78.40.
8.12pmWu with a back 3 1/2. She faltered on takeoff. 62.70 for her to move her above her compatriot into third.
8.09pmBroben is looking really impressive tonight. She nails her armstand back double somersault 1 1/2 twists for a score of 80.00 to climb into third.
8.06pmHu performs the same move and scores higher. The judges were slightly generous with their 78.40 there. Hu moves into second behind her compatriot.
8.03pmGladding takes her time on her armstand back double somersault 1 1/2 twists, but it was worth the wait. Great athleticism from her. She over-rotates slightly, but gets a solid score of 68.80. She moves into seventh for the time being.
8.02pmIuliia Prokopchuk of the Ukraine has shown good consistency. She is in second after three dives with a score of 211.25.
8.00pmPowell launches into a forward 3 1/2 somersault. Great execution from her! A 72.00 puts her back into it after a poor second dive.
7.58pmFrontrunner Chen shows expert precision on her armstand back double somersault 1 1/2 twists. That nets her 81.60, and she is looking comfortable at the top!
7.57pmBenfeito with an inward 3 1/2 somersault that will do little to consolidate her top two position. he is marked down on takeoff, execution and entry with a 48.00.
7.54pmAt the end of round two, China's Chen is top on 154.90, followed by Benfeito of Canada on 151.05. Team GB's Gladding is in 14th, while Powell has work to do down in 25th.
7.52pmKoltunova with a back 3 1/2 somersault. It has a low degree of difficulty, but the judges saw something they didn't like there. A score of 47.85 does little to maintain her strong start.
7.46pmPamg's second dive is a superb back 2 1/2 somersault. She moves into fourth after earning 75.40 for that one.
7.43pmWu of Australia does a superb job of her armstand back double somersault 1 1/2 twists. A 76.80 moves her up to third place.
7.39pmBroben performs the same move but comes out of her shape a little early. She is marked down slightly with a score of 62.40.
7.37pmHu of China performs and inward 3 1/2 somersault and earns 73.60. That moves her into fifth, while her compatriot clings onto the lead,
7.35pmGladding goes with a less difficult inward 2 1/2 somersault for her second dive. She takes her time and earns a 58.80.
7.32pmPowell's second dive is a back 3 1/2 somersault. She falters on it, losing her shape to early for a graceless entry into the later. The judges hammer her with a 29.70, and she could be in trouble now.
7.31pmChen's execution and takeoff were good, but she throws up too much splash on her second dive. She still earns a decent score of 78.40 for her inward 3 1/2 somersault.
7.30pmBenfeito with a back 3 1/2 somersault for a 77.55 from the judges to take the lead.
7.29pmViola starts round two well, earning 73.60 for her armstand back double somersault 1 1/2 twists. She showed good strength to hold firm in that handstand position.
7.26pmAt the end of round one Koltunova leads, followed by China's Chen. The two Britons are in join 12, a position which would suffice for the semi-final if they can hold on in there.
7.24pmYulia Koltunova of Russia stuns the Aquatics Centre with a brilliant first dive. She pulls off an armstand forward double somersault 1 twist to earn 79.05 and take the top spot!
7.22pmBell of the United States falters on her forward 3 1/2 somersault, and she has a lot of work to do with a score of 49.50.
7.22pmPamg's compatriot Tukiet goes with the same move also. She isn't vertical enough on entry and is docked several points, finishing with 66.00.
7.18pmPamg of Malaysia demonstrates impressive flexibility performing the same move to go level with Wu. Kim Jo emulates the pair and also earns an identical score. There's a pattern emerging here.
7.16pmAustralia's Melissa Wu with a confident start. Her forward 3 1/2 somersault is worth 72.00 and that puts her up in joint-third.
7.13pmBroben of Australia opens with a fantastic reverse 2 1/2 somersault. Perhaps worth more than the 68.85 the judges award.
7.11pmHu of China gets a 6750 for her forward 3 1/2 somersault to move into fifth ahead of the two Britons.
7.10pmGladding is off to a decent start, opening with a back 2 1/2 somersault 1 1/2 twists for a score of 67.20. She's level with teammate Powell.
7.09pmSteuer of Germany starts with a sloppy inward 2 1/2 somersault. She has ground to make up now after scoring 51.80.
7.06pmTeam GB's Powell goes with an armstand back double somersault 1 1/2 twists. It's a difficult dive and a bold one to open with. She is marked down slightly on execution and entry for a score of 67.20.
7.05pmChina's 15-year-old sensation Chen Ruolin opens with a forward 3 1/2 somersault worth 76.50. She steals the lead and will no doubt be tough to beat.
7.04pmBenfeito of Canada is steady and precise as she enters the water. She goes into an early lead on 73.50 for performing a dive with a high degree of difficulty.
7.03pmLabeau of France over-rotates on her first dive. She is marked down for that with a score of 53.20.
7.01pmViola kicks things off with a forward 3 1/2 somersault. It dazzled the crowd and sets the bar high with a 70.50 from the judges.
6.58pmWe'll be under way in just a moment. Brittany Viola of the United States will dive first.
6.50pmShe described taking part in the Olympics as an "emotional roller coaster" and praised the efforts of Team GB's medical team.
6.50pmGladding is a veteran of the sport and will be hoping her experience will give her an edge in the preliminaries.
6.45pmShe had this to say yesterday on Twitter: "Tomorrow's the day I've been working towards for 20years. Thanks everyone for all your support on my journey, it's great to have you behind me."
6.42pmStacie Powell and Monique Gladding fly the flag for Team GB tonight. Powell set a new British record in this event back in June, and will no doubt be hoping to recapture that form this evening.
6.38pmGood evening and welcome to our live coverage of the preliminary stage of the women's 10m platform. Let's hope it's every bit as exciting as the conclusion of the men's 3m springboard yesterday.
