Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen has expressed his belief that his side's triumph in the FA Cup final has alleviated some of the pressure on the club.
The Gunners won their first major trophy in nine years as they came from 2-0 down to beat Hull City 3-2, with Aaron Ramsey firing in an extra-winner at Wembley.
"There has been a lot of talking about not winning for a long time but next year the pressure will be there again to win things," Vermaelen told the club's official website.
"That's what the people expect from us, the club expect from us, the fans expect so of course it will give us a boost and a lot of confidence over the next few years."
Vermaelen was an unused substitute in the final on Saturday.
