Arsenal, Liverpool chase Welliton

Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly keen on Spartak Moscow striker Welliton.

Liverpool and Arsenal are locked in a battle with Fiorentina and Borussia Dortmund in the race to sign Spartak Moscow striker Welliton, according to talkSPORT.

The 25-year-old has scored 57 goals in 93 league appearances for the Russian club, but Spartak could entertain offers in the region of £7m.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is said to be a keen admirer of the 5ft 9in attacker, while Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has also entered the race.

Welliton was the top scorer in the Russian Premier League in both 2009 and 2010.
