Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger willing to sell winger Theo Walcott?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly willing to part ways with long-serving winger Theo Walcott during the January transfer window.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly decided to try to cash in on winger Theo Walcott during the January transfer window.

Walcott has netted 107 goals in 388 appearances in all competitions since signing for the Gunners in January 2006, but over the past six months the attacker has found himself on the fringes of Wenger's starting lineup.

Since the start of the current campaign, Walcott has spent just 47 minutes on the pitch in the Premier League, with the forward's three starts coming in the EFL Cup and Europa League.

According to TeamTalk, Wenger is now ready to try to gain a sizeable fee for the 28-year-old, who will have 18 months remaining on his contract at the start of 2018.

The North Londoners have recently found themselves in a position where they face losing both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez on free transfers, and Wenger is keen to avoid a similar situation with Walcott at a time when the former Southampton trainee has slipped down the pecking order.

Walcott's lack of game time has also led to a continued absence from the England squad, with his last outing coming in November.
