Antoine Griezmann, Lucas Hernandez commit to Atletico Madrid as Thomas Lemar pens deal

Atletico Madrid confirm that Antoine Griezmann and Lucas Hernandez have extended their deals at the Wanda Metropolitano, with Thomas Lemar also set to arrive from Monaco.

Atletico Madrid have announced that Antoine Griezmann and Lucas Hernandez have extended their deals at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The La Liga giants have also revealed that fellow France international Thomas Lemar will be joining from Monaco, having officially agreed terms with the Spanish club.

Griezmann has long been a target for Barcelona, but the 27-year-old announced his decision to stay at Atletico during an hour-long documentary broadcast on Spanish TV station Movistar.

According to Sky Sports News, Griezmann was offered £17.5m to stay and the promise of a £100m improvement of the squad in order to compete for next season's top titles.

Griezmann, currently with the France squad at the 2018 World Cup, has now demonstrated his commitment to Atletico by adding another year to his contract after meeting with the club's chief executive, Miguel Angel Gil Marin, in Russia.

Fellow France international Hernandez also penned a new deal at the Spanish club until 2024 following the meeting, while Lemar, another member of Les Bleus, has "signed his contract", though the 22-year-old's move is subject to passing a medical and finalising terms with Monaco.

Atletico finished second in La Liga last season and won the Europa League.
