Barcelona's Andres Iniesta, Jeremy Mathieu out for weeks with injuries

Barcelona duo Andres Iniesta and Jeremy Mathieu will be sidelined for two and three weeks respectively with injuries.

Barcelona pair Andres Iniesta and Jeremy Mathieu will be sidelined for two and three weeks respectively after picking up injuries in the Supercopa de Espana first leg against Sevilla.

Both players were substituted in the first half, with Denis Suarez coming on for Iniesta and Mathieu being replaced with Lucas Digne.

The club confirmed the extent of the injury blows on their official website, claiming that their captain has a bruised knee and will make his return depending on how the problem "develops".

Mathieu suffered a distal tear in his right leg, meaning that he will miss Barca's La Liga opener against Real Betis, as well as a trip to face Athletic Bilbao.

Barcelona have a 2-0 advantage in their tie against Sevilla.
