Luis Enrique explains Gerard Deulofeu decision

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique explains his reasons for sending former Everton loanee Gerard Deulofeu on to Sevilla for the 2014-2015 campaign.

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has admitted that he could not guarantee Gerard Deulofeu enough minutes this season for the Spaniard to continue developing.

Following a successful loan spell with Everton last season, Deulofeu had been expected to form part of the Barcelona squad for the new campaign.

However, the decision was taken to send the winger on loan to Sevilla for the 2014-15 season.

"The club must always look to get stronger. Deulofeu was my decision: I don't believe he would have got enough minutes to continue his devlopment. It's a coach's decision," Enrique told reporters.

"He needs to improve a few things and show he can be at a club like Barca."

Denis Suarez has also moved from Barca to Sevilla on a season-long loan.
