Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Schalke 04 defender Joel Matip this month.
The 22-year-old, who has spent his entire professional career at Schalke, is regarded as one of the best young talents in European football.
According to AS, Schalke value the defender in the region of £8m, with Barcelona prepared to meet that figure this month as they attempt to boost their defensive options.
Everton have also been linked with a move for the Cameroon international, whose current deal is due to expire in 2016.
