Danny Guthrie joins Blackburn Rovers

Former Reading midfielder Danny Guthrie pens a two-year deal with Blackburn Rovers.

Blackburn Rovers have confirmed the signing of former Reading midfielder Danny Guthrie on a two-year deal.

The 28-year-old, whose former clubs include Liverpool, Southampton and Newcastle United, was recently handed a trial at Ewood Park after being released by the Royals.

"He's a fantastic footballer with a great range of passing," Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer told the Championship club's official website.

Rovers play their first match of the new season on Saturday when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers.
