Roberto Donadoni hails "extraordinary" Bologna

Roberto Donadoni says that Bologna produced an "extraordinary performance" to beat Napoli in their Serie A clash at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

Bologna manager Roberto Donadoni has paid tribute to his players following their shock 3-2 victory against Napoli this afternoon.

The Rossoblu raced into a three-goal lead over the title favourites and managed to hold off a late fightback after two goals from Gonzalo Higuain ensured a nervous finish to the match.

"Today I saw a Bologna side that understood where it had gone wrong in the previous game," Donadoni told Mediaset Premium. "We took the right approach and put in a simply extraordinary performance, even though we fell away late on due to fatigue.

"There are many young players here and a few experienced figures, it's a good mix and I try to assemble the best line-up possible based on their characteristics.

"I told the lads before the game that they should not think too much about Napoli and their quality. They have extraordinary players, yes, but we must focus on how we play and cause them problems. We managed it, even though at the end their undeniable quality was starting to emerge."

Bologna, who were promoted from Serie B last season, have won four of their previous seven league games.
