Bradford City winger Filipe Morais could miss whole of next season

Bradford City reveal that winger Filipe Morais could be sidelined for the whole of next season due to a serious knee injury.

Bradford City have revealed that winger Filipe Morais could miss the whole of next season due to a serious knee injury.

The 29-year-old ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament during a training session on Monday.

Former Portugal Under-21 international Morais could now be sidelined for up to nine months.

"Following the results of Filipe Morais' scan, the club can confirm that the Portuguese winger has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament," the club said via its official Twitter account.

"Morais is set to be sidelined now for anything between six to nine months due to the injury, meaning he could sadly miss the whole season."

Morais, who joined Bradford from Stevenage in 2014, scored six goals in 40 appearances for the Bantams last term.
