Michal Bilek admits that Petr Cech made a bad mistake during their 2-1 win over Greece.

Czech Republic coach Michal Bilek has labelled Petr Cech's error against Greece as a "bad goal to concede" in the 2-1 win on Tuesday.

The Czechs were leading the Euro 2004 winners comfortably 2-0, before the Chelsea goalkeeper failed to hold a cross from Georgios Samaras, resulting in Fanis Gekas rolling the ball into an unguarded net. Despite dominating possession after the goal, Greece failed to test Cech again as Bilek's side saw out the victory.

"We conceded a really bad goal, which gave Greece hope, but we didn't allow them any clear chances. We defended well and are very happy that our hopes are still alive," said Bilek.

"The pressure on us was great and we knew if we lost it was the end for us but we showed our strength and we won."

Of Cech's mistake, Bilek said: "It was a mistake. Petr didn't communicate with Sivok and it was an unnecessary goal to concede."

Czech Republic need to defeat Poland in their final Group A match on Saturday to qualify by right but can also qualify if they draw against the co-hosts and Russia win or draw.
