Steve Bruce: Referee Chris Foy had a "shocking day"

Steve Bruce claims that referee Chris Foy had a "shocking day" in Hull City's 2-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce was far from pleased with referee Chris Foy's display after claiming the official had a "shocking day" in his side's 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.

The Tigers boss accepted that Tom Huddlestone deserved to be shown a red card, but Bruce was unhappy with several other decisions at Stamford Bridge.

"I've no problems getting beat here," he told Sky Sports News. "But when there's big decisions [to be made], firstly you want to come out and say what you really feel but you're hauled up in front of the FA.

"I know how difficult a referee's job is but after [giving] two yellow cards for diving, he's showed his intent. Gary Cahill's first challenge for me boarders on being a red card.

"I've got no problem with Tom going off, I accept that it was an awful challenge but the referee hasn't done his job properly. He's had a shocking day."

The defeat leaves Hull 19th in the Premier League and winless in nine matches.
