The father of Alexis Mac Allister admits that the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder is likely to sign for a new club during the summer transfer window.

The father of Alexis Mac Allister has reiterated that the midfielder is likely to leave Brighton & Hove Albion this summer.

While Mac Allister has been signed to the Seagulls since 2019, it has only been during the past two seasons where he has made a notable impact.

The 24-year-old has 13 goals and three assists from his most recent 58 outings in the Premier League, eight of those strikes coming during 2022-23.

Although Mac Allister's form at the Amex Stadium has caught the eye, he also played a starring role as Argentina won the 2022 World Cup, supplying an assist during the final versus France.

When Mac Allister returned to Brighton, he was greeted by a rapturous reception by his teammates and the club's staff, and he has since spoken of his affection for the South-coast outfit.

Nevertheless, it was been widely claimed that Mac Allister has widespread interest in his signature with a number of clubs said to be monitoring the situation.

Most recently, a report stated that Liverpool and Chelsea were ready to go head to head for the playmaker, despite both clubs only ranked as outsiders to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Carlos Mac Allister has again been quizzed on his son's situation, Alexis's dad hinting that a transfer is expected to materialise by the end of July.

Speaking to Puroboca.com, Carlos said: "Normally the next [transfer window] will find him playing in another club, we don't know which one.

"The talks are just beginning in general, but it is most likely that Alexis will already be playing in another team next July."

Brighton CEO Paul Barber admitted late last year that Brighton were eager to agree fresh terms with Mac Allister, something which appears increasingly unlikely regardless of whether the club can qualify for Europe.

A potential fee of £60m has been suggested in the past, marginally lower than what Brighton would look to recoup if they sold fellow midfielder Moises Caicedo.

Mac Allister is currently preparing to square off against Chelsea on Saturday in a game which may prove pivotal in preventing the West Londoners from finishing the season in the top seven of the Premier League table.
