Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur has insisted that goalkeeper Alex McCarthy is not to blame for the team's defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.
The stopper was singled out for scrutiny after Son Heung-min's strike went through his legs to give Spurs a 1-0 win at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
However, McCarthur says that the team should take collective responsibility for the result.
"You can't please everyone – I think we will all get criticised by the fans at some point this season," McArthur told the Croydon Advertiser.
"Alex has started well for us but it's not just him, it's everyone who needs to bounce back. It was unfortunate it went through his legs for the goal."
Palace sit eighth in the Premier League following the defeat.
