Dunfermline Athletic are to seek legal advice over the decision to invite Dundee to replace Rangers in the Scottish Premier League.
Dunfermline had hoped the fact they were relegated last season would be sufficient to have them reinstated, but now the club is seeking legal advice and possible compensation.
"It may be we lodge a complaint with the SFA or SPL and seek financial redress," BBC Sport quotes chairman John Yorkston as saying. "In all likelihood, we will be seeking legal advice.
"I have friends who are high up in the legal profession and say that we have a very good case, but we don't want to hold up the start of the season."
Dundee accepted their place in next season's SPL earlier today.
