Frank Lampard says that England will not get much credit even if they win their next two World Cup qualifying matches.

England midfielder Frank Lampard has insisted that his side will not receive credit even if they manage back-to-back wins from their next two World Cup qualifiers.

The Three Lions face San Marino on Friday before travelling to Montenegro on Tuesday in their Group H World Cup qualifying matches.

The Chelsea man believes that, such is the expectation of the national side, England will not attract many plaudits even if they win both matches.

"[San Marino] is a game to be professional, where you are expected to win comfortably and don't get much credit whatever the result," said Lampard. "If we are disciplined and go about our job in the right way, then with the quality we have in our team with those attacking players you'd want to get the right result.

"We have to beat San Marino and then, with Montenegro being top of the group and us being in second place, we are aware of how tough that is out there.

"When you have a six-month break afterwards, you want to go into that looking comfortable so it is imperative to get the right result in both games."

Lampard currently has 94 caps for England.
