Steve Bruce pleased with new strike partnership

Hull City boss Steve Bruce praises January signings Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic following the team's 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has praised his new strike partnership of Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic following Saturday's 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Jelavic assisted fellow January signing Long for the game's opening goal as Hull earned a point against Spurs at the KC Stadium.

"I thought Long and Jelavic were a handful all afternoon," he told reporters.

"I am convinced they will give us the platform which we will need to make sure we stay in this division.

"They are both good players who have been round the block a little bit and know what it's all about."

Hull return to action next Saturday when they travel to Bruce's former club Sunderland in the Premier League.
