Preview: Inter Milan vs. Cesena

Sports Mole previews the match at San Siro between Inter Milan and Cesena.

Inter Milan head into their Serie A fixture with Cesena on Sunday evening with an increasing need to make San Siro a fortress heading into the final two months of the season.

Roberto Mancini's side have recorded just 18 points from their 12 Serie A games this campaign, with just two wins coming in their last seven, and an improvement is required if they are to earn a European place for next year.

The Nerazzurri also face an uphill task to overturn a 3-1 deficit against Wolfsburg in the Europa League, and Mancini will be aware that he needs a positive end to the season to attract better players to the club.

Goalkeeper Samir Handanovic will return to the starting lineup after being relegated to the bench on Thursday evening.

Cesena make the trip to the Italian giants having recorded four points, as well as back-to-back clean sheets, against Udinese and Palermo respectively.

The Cavallucci Marini still remain four points adrift of safety, but the club have been boosted by recent results and coach Domenico Di Carlo will have the belief that a surprise can be caused in Milan.

Di Carlo could include Massimo Volta in place of Stefano Lucchini in defence as the club look to atone for their loss to AC Milan at San Siro on February 22.
