Report: Inter Milan still pursuing Tottenham Hotspur's Erik Lamela

Inter Milan reportedly make fresh contact with Tottenham over Erik Lamela, despite the Premier League side's reported insistence on keeping their club-record signing.

Inter Milan are reportedly yet to surrender their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur's Erik Lamela despite the Premier League club's insistence on keeping their record signing.

The Argentine endured a miserable first season in England as his failure to adjust to the lifestyle and a back injury restricted him to 10 starts in all competitions.

However, Spurs have no intention of cutting their losses on the 22-year-old and are believed to have a great deal of faith that he will start to repay his £30m fee under Mauricio Pochettino this campaign.

They have apparently knocked back attempts from Inter to take the winger, who scored 19 goals in 62 starts for Roma between 2011 and 2013, back to Serie A, both on loan and on a permanent basis, with Nerazzurri Sporting director Piero Ausilio admitting three weeks ago that the deal was dead.

According to Mediaset, however, the San Siro outfit have approached Spurs again in a bid to secure Lamela's services, and are also thought to be keeping tabs on his teammate Roberto Soldado.
