How Juventus could line up against Sampdoria

Sports Mole looks at how Juventus could line up for their Serie A clash against Sampdoria.

Juventus will be determined to fend off the challenge of Inter Milan and pick up all three points when they face Serie A strugglers Sampdoria on Wednesday.

The Bianconeri beat Udinese 3-1 last time out to banish the memories of their first competitive defeat of the campaign by the same scoreline against Lazio.

Sampdoria are just two points above the relegation zone but have won three of their last six, showing signs of improvement under Claudio Ranieri.

Here, Sports Mole look at how Juve could line up for Wednesday's showdown.

Possible JUV XI vs. SAM

Out: Giorgio Chiellini (knee), Sami Khedira (knee)
Doubtful: Wojciech Szczesny (shoulder)

Maurizio Sarri could make a handful of changes after the Bianconeri's comfortable outing against Udinese in their last game, restoring a few regulars to the starting lineup.

Szczesny could recover from his shoulder complaint to reclaim his starting spot between the sticks ahead of Gianluigi Buffon, while regular full-backs Alex Sandro and Juan Cuadrado could replace Mattia De Sciglio and Danilo respectively.

Matthijs de Ligt will also hope to return to the side ahead of Merih Demiral and start alongside experienced defender Leonardo Bonucci at the heart of the back four. Bonucci had to be replaced in the last game due to a head injury but it should not prevent him from featuring in this one.

In midfield, Miralem Pjanic will expect to resume his spot at the base of the diamond ahead of Rodrigo Bentancur, while there could be minutes afforded to Aaron Ramsey, with Adrien Rabiot having enjoyed a short run in the side. Blaise Matuidi should continue on the left of the four.

Behind the strikers, Federico Bernardeschi could come back in at the expense of Gonzalo Higuain, with Paulo Dybala pushing up alongside Cristiano Ronaldo up front.
