Leeds United manager Brian McDermott claims that Sam Byram does not want to leave the Championship club this summer.

Leeds United manager Brian McDermott has claimed that Sam Byram wants to stay at the Championship club next season.

The 19-year-old defender has recently been linked with a number of Premier League sides, including Manchester City and Norwich City.

"Sam wants to be here next season and the club want him to be here next season," McDermott told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "I'm absolutely certain of that.

"If someone does try to push him in a different direction then it won't be the player or the club who are doing the pushing. I'm not concerned about it."

Byram signed a contract extension with Leeds last season until 2016.
