Philippe Coutinho reportedly stays behind on Merseyside as the bulk of the Liverpool squad travels to Dubai for a warm-weather training camp.

Philippe Coutinho has not travelled with Liverpool to a warm-weather training camp in Dubai, according to reports.

The Brazilian, who is currently out with a thigh injury, did not play in either of his side's games this year, against Burnley in the Premier League and Everton in the FA Cup.

Speculation has been growing in recent weeks about a renewed bid for Coutinho from Barcelona, who had three offers rejected - the last totalling £113m - for the 25-year-old last summer.

According to Sky Sports News, Coutinho was among a number of first-team players - undisclosed by the club - who stayed behind on Merseyside while the rest of the squad left for the United Arab Emirates.

Coutinho has contributed 12 goals and eight assists for Liverpool in all competitions this season.
