Aguero: 'Many players go abroad on days off'

Manchester City star Sergio Aguero insists that many players go abroad on their days off in a response to those who slammed his decision to go to a concert in Amsterdam.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has hit out at those who criticised his decision to go abroad on a day off.

The 29-year-old was involved in a road accident in late September after attending a concert in Amsterdam as his taxi hit a pillar on its way to the airport.

Aguero suffered a broken rib and was expected to be sidelined for the rest of October, but City confirmed this week that the forward is already back in light training.

"When a player has a free day at Manchester City, most of the players go to London, others to Italy, some to Spain," Aguero told TyC Sport.

"I was lucky that I know the agent of [Colombian singer] Maluma, he invited me and I went. I had almost two days off and going to the airport was when I had that accident.

"Then one thinks "why did I [go]", but it's difficult to imagine that something like that could happen."

Man City return to action this Saturday with a Premier League home game against Stoke City.
