Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester City could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Leicester City.

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola is currently sweating over the availability of a handful of players ahead of Sunday's trip to Leicester City in the Premier League.

The Citizens were missing eight players for their 1-1 draw with Everton on Boxing Day, three of whom - Rodri, Oscar Bobb and Ruben Dias - have no chance of returning at the King Power.

Jack Grealish, Ederson, Matheus Nunes, John Stones and the ill Kyle Walker will all need once-overs in the coming hours too, while Nathan Ake was substituted due to fatigue late on last time out.

The quick turnaround makes it difficult to envisage any member of the doubtful quintet being passed fit to start on Sunday, where Stefan Ortega should retain his place in goal at Ederson's expense.

Rico Lewis, Manuel Akanji and Josko Gvardiol should also be forced to go again in defence, where Ake will likely be fine to feature, but Jahmai Simpson-Pusey is on standby just in case.

After only giving Kevin De Bruyne 15 minutes off the bench against Everton, Guardiola will no doubt face pleas to bring the Belgian back into the XI, calls that should not fall on deaf ears.

Jeremy Doku could be the man to make way for De Bruyne, as Phil Foden and Savinho were both dangerous against the Toffees, whose number one Jordan Pickford saved a second-half spot kick from Erling Haaland.

The 24-year-old will get a shot at redemption here, but if he fails to find the net at the King Power, he would have gone four Premier League games without scoring for the very first time.

Manchester City possible starting lineup:
Ortega; Lewis, Akanji, Ake, Gvardiol; Kovacic; Savinho, Silva, De Bruyne, Foden; Haaland
