Report: Manchester City bid for Eduardo Salvio

Manchester City reportedly lodge a bid for Argentina winger Eduardo Salvio, who has four years remaining on his current contract at Benfica.

Manchester City have reportedly lodged a bid for Benfica winger Eduardo Salvio.

Benfica are said to be resigned to the prospect of losing the 23-year-old, who has represented Argentina five times at senior international level.

However, the Portuguese outfit are likely to demand that City improve their initial offer.

According to The Independent, Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira Ferreira is holding out for a fee in the region of £34.4m.

Salvio's current contract is due to expire in June 2017.
