Sports Mole looks at how Liverpool could line up in Monday's Premier League clash with Manchester United.

Liverpool will be boosted by the return of Roberto Firmino for Monday's Premier League contest with Manchester United, but the Reds still have a number of absentees.

Firmino, who was absent against Crystal Palace last time out due to a fitness issue, is expected to lead the line at Old Trafford, with Darwin Nunez suspended following his red card against the Eagles.

Naby Keita is also available for selection after overcoming illness, and the midfielder will be pushing for a spot in the starting side against Erik ten Hag's team.

Liverpool did not pick up any fresh injury issues in their 1-1 draw with Patrick Vieira's side, but the Reds remain without a number of first-team players for their trip to Old Trafford.

Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara, Ibrahima Konate, Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Calvin Ramsay and Caoimhin Kelleher will again be absent for last season's FA Cup and EFL Cup winners.

Head coach Jurgen Klopp is expected to make changes to the side that started against Palace, with Joe Gomez likely to replace Nat Phillips in the middle of the defence.

Harvey Elliott could keep his midfield spot despite pressure from Keita, but James Milner is likely to drop out to allow captain Jordan Henderson to return to the XI.

Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz are certain starters in the final third of the field, meanwhile, with Firmino set to join them in a front three on Monday night.
