Manchester City will submit an offer of €75m (£67m) for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly next week, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Manchester City are reportedly poised to table an offer of €75m (£67m) for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly next week.

Despite having bolstered their defence with the acquisition of Nathan Ake from Bournemouth, City are understood to be in the market for another centre-back during the summer transfer window.

Pep Guardiola's men have been strongly linked with a swoop for Koulibaly, whom Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has admitted is likely to be heading for the exit door ahead of the new campaign.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Napoli are prepared to receive a bid of €75m (£67m) from City for Koulibaly, and talks between the two clubs are progressing, albeit at a slow rate.

The Citizens have supposedly already agreed personal terms with the Senegalese centre-back, but due to the transfer saga of 2018 surrounding Jorginho's move to Chelsea, there is said to be bad blood between City and Napoli.

City's arch rivals Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Koulibaly, who has scored 10 goals in 246 appearances for Napoli across all competitions.
