Real Madrid rival Manchester United for Nicolas Otamendi?

A report in Spain claims that Real Madrid are preparing to challenge Manchester United for the signature of Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi.

Real Madrid have reportedly entered the race to sign Valencia centre-back Nicolas Otamendi.

The Argentina international has been linked with a £35m move to Premier League side Manchester United in recent weeks.

However, according to Spanish publication Superdeporte, Madrid are also keen to recruit the 27-year-old.

The report adds that Otamendi's agent Eugenio Lopez has already discussed a potential move to the Bernabeu with Madrid president Florentino Perez.

It is believed that Otamendi will make a final decision over his future once he returns from the Copa America.
