Rafael Benitez will reportedly be offered the chance to return to Newcastle United should Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman complete a takeover of the club.

Rafael Benitez may reportedly be offered the opportunity to return to Newcastle United in the near future.

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman is looking to complete a takeover of the Magpies - a development which has resulted in uncertainty regarding the position of Steve Bruce.

Should negotiations reach a positive conclusion, The Sun claims that the new owners would look to secure a reunion with Benitez during the summer.

After failing to agree fresh terms with Mike Ashley, Benitez left for Chinese side Dalian Yifang before the beginning of this campaign, leading to the arrival of Bruce.

While the Englishman has won over the majority of the club's supporters, Benitez would be welcomed back to St James' Park should be opt to return to England.

On a limited budget, the Spaniard won 62 of his 146 matches in charge between March 2016 and June 2019.
