Cheick Tiote's move from Newcastle United to Shanghai Shenhua stalls?

Cheick Tiote's move to Shanghai Shenhua reportedly stalls because of the Newcastle United midfielder's wage demands.

Cheick Tiote's transfer to Shanghai Shenhua has reportedly hit a snag over the Newcastle United midfielder's wage demands.

Last week, Magpies boss Steve McClaren confirmed that the 29-year-old was on the verge of joining the Chinese outfit.

However, according to Sky Sports News, the £5m transfer is in doubt because an agreement is yet to be reached over personal terms.

Tiote has made 129 Premier League appearances for the club since joining the Magpies from FC Twente in 2010.
