Alesandro Rosi scores late on to earn Parma all three points against Cagliari.

Parma have given their hopes of a top-10 finish a huge boost tonight after edging Cagliari to record back-to-back victories.

The visitors carried a threat on the counter from the outset as Marco Parolo and Jonathan Biabiany both fired early warnings with strikes from range.

Cagliari struggled to keep possession in the first period but did register a fierce strike on target as Nene forced Antonio Mirante into a strong save from inside the penalty area.

The home side introduced Marco Sau early in the second half but were still unable to create a clear-cut opportunity.

10 minutes from time Parma broke the deadlock as Alesandro Rosi reacted quickest to block Amauri's effort to scramble home from close range.

Roberto Donadoni's men held on in the closing stages as their quest to finish in the top half of Serie A was given renewed impetus.
