Real Madrid and Barcelona will face off in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, with Osasuna and Athletic Bilbao drawn together in the other last-four contest.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will face off in the semi-finals of the 2022-23 Copa del Rey.

The draw for the final four of the competition was made on Monday afternoon, and the two biggest clubs in Spanish football will lock horns for a spot in the final of the cup competition.

The first leg at Bernabeu is due to take place on March 1 or March 2 due to Real Madrid's participation in the Club World Cup, with the second leg at Camp Nou is scheduled for April 4, April 5 or April 6.

The other semi-final saw Osasuna and Athletic Bilbao paired together, with the winner of that fixture set to take on Real Madrid or Barcelona in the final, which will be held on May 6.

Barcelona are the most successful side in the history of the Copa del Rey, lifting the trophy on 31 occasions, while Athletic are second on the all-time list with 23 titles.

Real Madrid are third with 19, but Osasuna are bidding to win the competition for the first time, with their previous best being the final of the 2004-05 tournament, when they lost to Real Betis.

Carlo Ancelotti's side have beaten Cacereno, Villarreal and Atletico Madrid to advance to this stage, while Barcelona overcame Intercity and Ceuta before recording a 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad.

There have already been two El Clasico fixtures this season, with Barcelona running out 3-1 winners over Real Madrid in the final of the Spanish Super Cup in the middle of this month.

However, Ancelotti's side beat Barcelona 3-1 when the two sides locked horns in La Liga at Bernabeu in the middle of October.

Real Madrid are chasing success in La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey this term, while Barcelona are fighting for trophies in La Liga, the Europa League and the Copa del Rey.

Barcelona's 1-0 victory over Girona in La Liga on Saturday afternoon moved them six points clear at the top of the table, and Real Madrid could only cut the gap to five, as they were held to a goalless draw by Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Real Madrid have two more league games against Valencia and Mallorca before competing in the Club World Cup, with their semi-final scheduled for February 8.

Ancelotti's side will then play twice more in La Liga against Elche and Osasuna before travelling to Liverpool for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 contest.

Barcelona, meanwhile, have three league matches against Real Betis, Sevilla and Villarreal before hosting Manchester United for the first leg of their Europa League knockout round playoff affair.
