Carlo Ancelotti: 'Real Madrid ready for El Clasico'

Carlo Ancelotti insists that Real Madrid are "ready" for the El Clasico against Barcelona next Sunday after beating Malaga to maintain their lead at the top of La Liga.

Carlo Ancelotti believes that Real Madrid are in the perfect frame of mind ahead of the El Clasico against Barcelona next weekend.

Los Blancos beat Malaga 1-0 on Saturday to maintain their three-point lead at the top of La Liga and extend their unbeaten run to 30 games in all competitions.

Barca were the last team to beat their fierce rivals when they won the reverse fixture 2-1 in October, but Ancelotti is confident that Real are ready to even things up at the Bernabeu.

"This team is playing consistently," he told reporters. "There are matches in which we have to play to different strengths.

"Our players' attitude in defence was great and they worked hard. I think we are ready to play the Clasico."

Madrid have lost just one of their last six matches against the Catalan giants.
