Report: Sergio Ramos to undergo shoulder surgery after El Clasico

Reports in Spain suggest that Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos will wait to have surgery on a shoulder injury until after his side's game against Barcelona next week.

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos will wait to have surgery on a shoulder injury until after his side's game against Barcelona next week, according to reports.

The Spain international first picked up the shoulder problem in September, and has since missed six matches and been required to take painkilling injections for Real's games against Celta Vigo, Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla.

Ramos injured the shoulder further after a fall during the game against Sevilla, but AS claims that there is a chance of him still being available for the El Clasico clash as Real are willing to wait if his latest set of tests rule out the need for surgery until after November 21.

Real are currently second in La Liga, three points behind leaders Barca.
