Real Madrid have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Inter Milan right-back Maicon.
The 30-year-old Brazilian's six-year spell with the Serie A giants is likely to end this summer and Los Blancos, along with European champions Chelsea, were said to be interested in his services.
However, Inter Milan are demanding a £6m transfer fee for Maicon which the La Liga outfit are unwilling to pay, according to the Daily Mail.
Chelsea are now believed to be clear favourites to sign the player, who has been capped 66 times at senior international level.
