Toni Kroos rules out a potential Real Madrid departure despite having less than 12 months left on his current contract.

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has ruled out the possibility of leaving the club.

The 32-year-old has scored 25 goals and provided 83 assists in 369 appearances for Los Blancos, but with his contract set to expire next summer, his future at Real Madrid appears to be uncertain.

However, during a podcast from OMR, Kroos has opened up on his Real Madrid future, his relationship with club president Florentino Perez and the European Super League.

Commenting on Perez, the former Germany international said: "I'm very close to him, he's a good-hearted person. From the first day he gave me the feeling that he was happy that I was coming to his club, which is unusual for the size of a club like Real Madrid."

Kroos went on to state that Perez has made no attempt of selling him before ruling out a potential departure from the Santiago Bernabeu.

The midfielder added: "I know that in these eight years he has not thought for a second about selling me. At that time I came for 'only' 25 million euros, surely he could have sold me later for more money.

"I have an excellent relationship with the club, I have grown very fond of it. The president, the team, the fans... so I won't leave either."

Kroos also addressed the failed attempt to introduce the European Super League, which Perez was chairman of, while also commenting on whether the Premier League is the best in Europe.

He said: "Never contradict your own president! [he joked]. It's obvious that the idea existed and still exists.

"It should have been in place a long time ago, I think it will take a while to implement it and I probably won't see it as an active player. My view on it is that I still believe it will come, but I can't say when."

"The Premier League clubs haven't won an international title this year. The TV money has been significantly higher in England for years and yet it hasn't resulted in English teams winning everything

"Thank God, not all players are looking only at the salary, but also at winning a lot of titles and growing more."

After featuring in three of Real Madrid's four La Liga games this season, Kroos is preparing alongside his teammates for a Champions League opener against Celtic on Tuesday.
