Francesco Totti pens one-year deal with Roma to stay at club for 25th season

Francesco Totti signs a one-year deal with Roma, confirming that he will end his career after his 25th and final season at the club.

Francesco Totti will play in his 25th and final season for Roma after signing a new one-year deal at the Italian club.

The forward, who will turn 40 in September, was linked with a surprise move to Premier League champions Leicester City in March, but has opted to finish his career at Roma.

"I really wanted this contract, it represents the realisation of my dream," Totti told the club's official website. "I always wanted to end my career having only worn one shirt - the Roma one.

"After speaking with the president, I am even more convinced that, working together, we can achieve great things."

Totti joined the Italian outfit when he was 12 years old and four years later made his first-team debut.

Since then, the forward has racked up 758 appearances and scored 304 goals, both of which are club records.
