Swansea City boss Garry Monk expects "difficult" Sunderland test

Swansea City boss Garry Monk tips Sunderland to give his side a "difficult game" at the Stadium of Light.

Swansea City boss Garry Monk has backed Sunderland to give his side a "difficult game" in the Premier League this weekend.

The Swans head to the Stadium of Light with a win and a draw from their opening two matches of the season, while Sunderland are still looking for their first points.

Despite the contrast in form, Monk expects Dick Advocaat's team to be fired up for their encounter on Saturday.

"We expect Sunderland to be more organised and have more determination," he told the club's official website. "They are in front of their own fans so we are expecting a difficult game - they have good players and a good manager who knows what he wants.

"I'm expecting a reaction from them and it makes it increasingly harder for us, but we are in good form, we are working in a good way and we're looking forward to the game.

"I'm confident in the players we have in the squad and we are stronger now and the levels of training have stepped up. It's very early in the season but I'm confident with this group moving forward."

Swansea's last match in the Premier League saw them beat Newcastle United 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium.
