Half-Time Report: Tranmere Rovers leading Crewe Alexandra

Tranmere Rovers are leading Crewe Alexandra 1-0 in today's League One fixture at Prenton Park, courtesy of Matthew Pennington's header.

Tranmere Rovers are currently a goal up against Crewe Alexandra in today's League One fixture at Prenton Park.

The home side threatened first, with Jake Cassidy winning a free kick to the left of the Alex area in the first five minutes.

Shortly afterwards, a cross from Jason Koumas was just too deep for Stephen Arthurworrey at the back post.

Cassidy was able to break through the Crewe backline on 15 minutes, but his shot was blocked on the edge of the area.

Matthew Pennington then volleyed wide from a Koumas corner in the 21st minute.

The breakthrough came just before the half-hour mark when a Koumas cross was headed in by Pennington.
